Sometimes by Faith

Far and away my favorite track here and one of the best songs I think I have ever written. Each morning of every day, with the rising of the sun, God gives us a glimmer of hope, a picture that in the end, all things will be made right.

Without hope, what?
Sometimes by Faith

The morning stumbles in, lights a candle for the night gone by;
rubs its weary eyes, wipes a tear out of the dreary sky.

Soft is the early light; gone is the troubled night;
The dark dreams fade.
Birds in the morning sing, a new day filtering in through the shade.

As long as dreams follow the day
As long as light gives way to night
God knows that you and I will walk this way:
Sometimes by faith,
Sometimes by sight

When darkness settles in, everything we know can tend to slip away.
Things we swore we believed shiver into mist,
and vanish in the grey.

The night falls hard and cold,
dredging up all those old familiar scenes.
But look at how the morning breaks;
think about how time can shake up everything.

As long as dreams follow the day
As long as light gives way to night
God knows that you and I will walk this way:
Sometimes by faith,
Sometimes by sight

The morning stumbles in, Lights a candle for the night gone by.
Grace draws a streak of gold across the black wall of the Eastern sky.
