One More Story

One more story before I go,
One more song to play
Before we clear away the empty glasses
And the candles burn away.
Anything to make the evening linger,
To make the time slow down.
One more story, dusted off and given to a friend;
I don't want this time to end,
I don't want this time to end.

One more story,
Maybe the one about all those days of rain.
The one that ends with all those brilliant rainbows;
I could tell that one again and again.
We could take out books of photographs
And read what's written in between.
The night is young yet-—
Or at least I think we could pretend,
I don't want this time to end.
I don't want this time to end

Looking out of my eyes, into your eyes
While the distance melts away.
Let tomorrow wake up full of everything we spend,
I don't want this time to end,
I don't want this time to end.
