Outlands

A song of hope, as usual.
Outlands

You know that the morning is bound to come up with the dawn
And the evening is bound to fall down, when the sunset comes on.
You know that a bad cold will linger as long as it can
And a good dog will come when you call, it’s a part of the plan.
Bad News from the outlands is bound to come over the hill
If whiskey and time do not kill you… then something else will.

You know that a poor man is destined to work till he falls,
And a heart that can never be broken is no heart at all.
There are some things in this life you know to be certain and sure,
There is always some problem but there is not always a cure.
Bad News from the outlands is bound to come over the hill
If whiskey and time do not kill you… then something else will.

The first time my eyes found that girl, I believed she was fine
And I let myself fall for the notion that she could be mine.
But I should have known better, we all know the way these things go.
How the river reveals what lies under when the water runs low.
Bad News from the outlands is bound to come over the hill
If whiskey and time do not kill you… then something else will.

Some things are sure to bring pleasure, and some to bring pain.
There’s always a rainbow to follow the worst of the rain.
Bad News from the outlands is bound to come over the hill
If whiskey and time do not kill you… then something else will.

Bad news from the outlands can always be trusted to call
But if God can be trusted, then death will have no sting at all.
